We got married 21 years ago at a hotel in Essex that they’ve since knocked down to make more lucrative flats. The venue doesn’t matter. I don’t care that they’ve knocked it down. I hope the property developer is sitting somewhere nice with a cocktail in hand.

What matters is arguing about the dishwasher (he’s utterly ridiculous) arguing about how many coats it’s OK to have (I’m utterly ridiculous) and closing ranks on everything that’s big. We’ve had a lot of big life things thrown our way and we always fall back together when life rocks us. Anniversaries are nice but they don’t matter really. They’re just days like any other. It’s all the days in between and added up that count. The rubbish Mondays when you’ve taken ages to get back from work and you’re freezing and you can sit in PJs watching Only Connect whilst eating leftovers for tea. That’s love. That’s what makes it all OK.

The Summer Sale is finishing at some point this week! But if you need a discount for full-priced things, then please use SUMMER24 on the website when you’re checking out for 20% OFF (I’m clinging onto the notion that it’s still summer until the equinox)
