A Case of You
We’ve just had the Blues and Americana Festival in our town. It’s been so special. Essentially, local musicians and bands from all over the world come to Leek for this weekend in October and play in our pubs and venues. It’s just a fantastic celebration. Most of it isn’t even ticketed. You just turn up with your mates and listen and chat. Only yesterday afternoon we headed to the Red Lion to see local musician and friend Kath Ord play a tribute to Joni Mitchell, and nobody in the pub chatted at all because she had the whole room utterly spellbound.
My husband went to the bar to buy drinks after one of the songs and didn’t come back to me with the drinks until she’d finished the next song because the whole room was just in an absolute magical state of awe and it would have felt like interrupting to walk across the pub during a song. Anyway, I know this email goes out to people all over the country, but if you fancy a really special night out you need to get in your cars and come and see her. She’s playing the same gig at Ipstones Folk Club at the Methodist Church on Wednesday 19th November at 7.30pm. Here is the link for the tickets.
I know I’m meant to be selling pants, but this is so special I thought you needed to know about it. If you came here for pants or pyjamas then use the code AUTUMN20 on british-boxers.com for 20% OFF. They’re all lovely.
Enjoy!
