I want to tell you about someone who really impressed me this week. We had a 16-year-old write into our customer service email address to ask us if we had any work going at the office/warehouse. His written English was beautiful, and we had a back and forth. Everything spelled correctly and really fun – he had a voice.

He’s going to study business in the Autumn but needs some work in and around his course and also in the holidays too. Anyway, I asked him to pop down and see us. Bearing in mind we’re a team of 10-15 women on any given day, I imagine we could be an intimidating office to walk into.

Regardless, he came in to see us an hour later and had a tour. He met everyone and was so keen. Happy being a runner, happy to do customer service, happy to pick and pack orders and happy to make tea. We chatted and he was so eager to please that within 4 hours of his initial email he had a new job. He was delighted and I tell you what, so are we!
