It seems like I’ve been on holiday forever, but it’s actually only a 2-week break, I promise. But for now we still live on the Yorkshire coast. Sian messaged me from work yesterday, “Deb have you seen the trailer for The Conjuring: Last Rites?”

I don’t do horror. I know it’s all clichés of dolls and clowns and jump scares, and rationally I know it’s ridiculous, but, “No, I’ve not seen the trailer for The Conjuring: Last Rites. Why?”

“The bloke in it is wearing our Banbury Stripe pyjamas.”

I google the trailer and watch it – scared witless and telling myself to pull myself together. Nothing’s going to haunt a beach lodge with no basement or attic in Filey, is it?

The spectre in my head is talking to me,
“Hahaaaaa! I’m going to haunt this slightly-bigger-than-a-static-caravan-style lodge with beige interiors in Filey that was probably made about 5 years ago and throw a foam pool noodle at you. Mwahahaha.”

It’s not happening, is it? It doesn’t work from a directors point of view, and I think the writer would be struggling with it too. It doesn’t even work as an irrational haunting anxiety in my head.

I digress.

Sian’s right though. The bloke in the trailer is wearing our Banbury Stripe pyjamas in the gorgeous brushed cotton fabric I’d designed for Autumn, and horror aside, I’m actually delighted.

Our Summer Sale will end next week when I’m back from holiday and the team are all back to normal and the ghosts are all busy gearing up for Halloween, so grab a bargain now if you want one.
