Spring Blooms

I love this time of year. Even though it’s usually still raining and it’s bloody freezing still, it’s the days here or there that creep in with their sunshine and jumper-not-coat warmth that are so good for the soul!

Also, my sister-in-law made me this beautiful jug (above) for my birthday last year, and I couldn’t wait for the supermarket daffodils to make it sing! No fuss, no frills but look at the colour on that! The smell reminds me of churches in childhood. Easter and Mothering Sunday when the vicar would call the kids up to get a bunch of flowers to hand out to all the ladies… “Not just the mums”, and I suppose done in the spirit of kindness and “It takes a village”. Just a nostalgia throwback, but amazing how a bunch of daffs can be so evocative.
