A Proper Cuppa
I’ve just watched my daughter make me a good cup of tea and I’ve never seen this before. It’s a proper cuppa, with not too much milk in a china mug that she’s selected because she knows I like the thinness of the china.
She’s chosen the mug with the love heart because she wants it to be nice for me and she’s remembered that I don’t want the fat pottery one with “Las Vegas” written on the side. she’s left the teabag in the mug for the right amount of time. It’s the colour of American tan tights. I think previous attempts could have been described by the good people at Pantone HQ or Farrow and Ball as “bleached bandages.” This cup of tea tastes good, it looks good but it’s even more.
Martha’s 18 and she has Williams Syndrome so for her it’s a massive achievement because she struggles with motor skills and concentration, for me it’s a proper mum moment worthy of a blog. So many things you and I do we often take for granted and for her these seemingly small tasks are monumental and I’m delighted I noticed this one. It’s a win and I’m claiming it for her.
Mother’s Day is looming, I know it can be a painful time for some so I shan’t bang on too much, suffice to say the code MOTHERSDAY is live and giving 20% off any full-priced things on the website.
Have a great week all!
