Tuesday was an episode of Postman Pat
I had the most amazing day ever on Tuesday. Basically, it seemed to descend into an episode of Postman Pat quite early on, and it remained that way throughout. Our brand new gorgeous dog bandanas arrived, so we put a shout out on Facebook asking if anyone’s good dog wanted to come down to our office and model them. Our office is in a rural town on the edge of the Peak District, so the response was ridiculous.
First up came Guy. He was being a good boy on his way to the butchers to buy sausages. To be fair, he hadn’t read Facebook and come on his own. Nicola from work’s husband Andy popped down with him – not because he’s nicked him mind you – but because Guy is Nicola and Andy’s dog. Guy was very pleased with his soft red bandana, but to be honest he was probably more pleased with the sausages.
A few minutes later, my friend Anya popped in on her way to the dog grooming parlour with Busby. Busby is like a scruffy teddy bear. He was very pleased with his bandana, but Anya said that the condition of her being able to own Busby was that her husband has emphatically stated “No bandanas” – not the best sales pitch for me to put in my email to you, but it made me laugh out loud and it fits with the mild anxiety Postman Pat narrative nonetheless, so I’ll leave it there for now. It all got resolved in the end anyway because Anya took a free face mask as Busby’s modelling fee instead. Not for him but for her to wear to the grooming parlour. I might need to re-write this paragraph. If she subscribes to our mailing list she’ll kill me.
Then came gentle little rescue dog Flo. A little shaky and anxious, but as soon as she had a “Good girl Flo” biscuit she was very happy to wear her small pink tartan bandana. Her owner Megan has the matching pyjamas. A fortuitous coincidence, but I cannot wait for the photos at Christmas.
Lynne, who has a business making false teeth, (for people not dogs) arrived with Freddie who modelled our Bordeaux. Teacher Emily arrived with black lab Dotty who wore our Rioja, and finally Tracey, who looks after dogs for her actual day job, turned up with an actual British Boxer called Ellie (pictured above) who also favoured the Bordeaux. So on brand!
If you’d like a bandana for your good boy or good girl, please make sure you buy the matching pyjamas or dressing gowns too. When you have, please please put photos of all of it on social media and tag them #TeamBritishBoxers We cannot wait to see everyone!
Also, if like me you haven’t got a dog of your own, I’m really sorry for all of the above. I now need to think about black and white cats called Jess too, don’t I? Meanwhile let’s all stand in a circle laughing whilst drinking a nice cup of tea made by Mrs Goggins as the camera zooms out and the closing credits start to rise up the screen.
Then finally, just because I have to, we’re continuing with our 15% off code this week including our lovely dressing gowns and free face masks on all orders over £30 Just use the code AUTUMN15 at the final page when you’re checking out.
I’ll get my coat.
Thanks so much!
